Triple Echo’s BBC TV film about the first ascent of To Hell and Back, E10 has finally been released on DVD. The route is still the UKs only E10 graded mountain rock climb and one of the most serious traditional leads in the world. It gives an unsettling insight into the psychological process involved in preparing for a climb with the highest consequences of failure. Screams of fear, belayers reduced to tears and even the filming team found the ascent so scary they announce on camera that they don’t want to film anything like it again! PAL format only.
