Join us for a screening of Dave’s new film ‘King of the Rest’ and his presentation about a lifetime of using science and experimentation to push the limits of adventurous new routing on the Scottish cliffs. Dave has opened some of the boldest trad climbs in the world and will explain why he doesn’t rely on self-belief to climb them safely.

The King of the Rest movie tells the story of Dave’s all-rounder challenge of 2026, climbing classic hard routes from all the rock disciplines in a single day around the Rest & Be Thankful Pass near Arrochar. Dave climbed Precious (7C boulder), Wild Country (E7 trad), made the first free-solo of Club Crack E2 on the Cobbler and finished the day with Messerschmitt 8a+ at The Bunker, walking between all the crags.
