Moving the Needle: An Evening with Dave

Moving the Needle: An Evening with Dave
Join me over the next few weeks for an evening of stories and perspective on a life as a Scottish professional climber. I will explore the question - how can an average climber do the hardest route in the world?
My progression from an unremarkable intermediate, to the first ascent of Rhapsody, the world’s first E11, at Dumbarton rock was catalysed by a series of key influences and decisions that transformed my climbing.
I will show how I’ve used this simple analytical approach to prepare for many more hard routes since: hard boulders, trad routes and big walls around the world, and am still climbing at my best at age 47.
